Synopsis

Tear tells the story of Keia, a girl living in a regular world that is given the magic gift that no other possesses. She lives ever in doubt as of which is the propose and origin of her powers, knowing one day she may need them for a bigger cause. Suddenly, the planet is attacked by numerous dangerous creatures following the orders of Copón, a childish and weirdly behaved robot. Keia knows this is what it all was meant for. Guided by Torio, an advanced extraterrestrial life-form, Keia is now burdened with the responsibility to defend all that she knows. Will she be capable of fighting for peace in the name of Earth?

Development

This project is like my baby. I have started work on Tear back when I was 16 years old. It all started with a drawing of the villain, Copón, and quickly developed into a rich world with wonderful characters and a deep story to tell. I take so much care into this title so that I deliver a product with the quality that Tear deserves. I first started developing the game using Game Maker Studio 2, but soon decided to move to Godot Engine as a matter of preference.

Inspiration

The game is heavily inspired by other Japanese RPGs that I grew up playing such as Earthbound, the Mario & Luigi saga, Pokémon or Final Fantasy VII. I really want to bring the ridiculous humor and laughs from the Mother series, but showing the characters' strong emotions and how they are impacted by the situations that they are facing.
